Gdańsk

In the Old Town itself, you can see the most beautiful buildings of the city, such as the Artus Court (400 m), the Crane over the Motława River (150 m), or the Neptune Fountain (350 m). In the heart of the old town, St. Mary's Church rises, the largest medieval temple in Europe built of brick, whose construction lasted 150 years. History enthusiasts will surely want to see Westerplatte, the Wisłoujście Fortress, Gdańsk Shipyard, and the 19th-century lighthouse transformed into a museum and the Amber Museum, the Museum of the Second World War, and the European Solidarity Center (ECS).

One of the most important attractions of Gdańsk is the St. Dominic’s Fair organized in August. Every year, this event is visited by about 3.5 million people. Gdańsk is also associated with the Promenada Gwiazd festival organized in Międzyzdroje - in the courtyard of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic there is an alley called the Amber Promenade of Stars and on it a monument consisting of 108 hand-impressed artists awarded during the festival.

It is also worth mentioning that Gdańsk has its own "leaning tower" - a building located at the corner of the streets of Lawendowa and Świętojańska, which deviates from the vertical by half a meter. Incredible history, unique character, and the number of unique attractions make Gdańsk a unique city in the world, an extremely attractive and popular place. According to data of the Gdańsk Tourist Organization, in 2019, Gdańsk was visited by 3,4 million guests from all over the world.
